Happy Leap Day! While flowers blossom, so will the music.

As promised, we’re keeping you in the loop with all of the exciting things happening at the Festival this year!

Sponsored by The Ryuji Ueno Foundation, The 6821 Quintet has been specifically created for the National Cherry Blossom Festival this year!

The number “6821” represents the mileage between Japan and Washington, D.C. And to celebrate the Japanese/DC relationship, the public will be treated to Pop- Up Performances of a combination of both classical and well known songs throughout the area during the Festival!

There are FOUR performances as followings:

Performance I:

• National Cherry Blossom Festival Opening Ceremony
• Date: March 26, 2016 (Sat)
• Time: 5:00PM ~ 7:00PM
• Location: Warner Theatre

Performance II:

• DC City Center (Easter Sunday Performance)
• Date: March 27, 2016 (Sun)
• Time: 1:30PM ~ 2:30PM
• Location: DC City Center

Performance III:

• Union Station (Lunchtime Performance)
• Date: March 28, 2016 (Mon)
• Time: 12:00PM ~ 1:00PM
• Location: Union Station

Performance IV:

• Reagan National Airport (Evening Rush Hour Performance)
• Date: March 28, 2016 (Mon)
• Time: 4:00PM ~ 5:00PM
• Location: Reagan National Airport

How do you qualify for early access to all the best shifts, you say??

HERE’S HOW!

All those who sign up for a shift in the FIRST WAVE (ongoing now through Thursday!) will receive an early sign up notice for our other special events! These favorite events include Family Day, Blossom Kite Festival, Southwest Waterfront Fireworks Festival, VIP Events and more!

In order to sign up for shift, simply click the calendar Volunteer Shift Calendar and scroll through. All the shift listings are on the calendar throughout the Festival Dates, March 20 – April 17th. Click the shift you would like on the calendar and click “sign up”. Remember, you must sign up for a shift being displayed on the Calendar before Thursday to qualify for EARLY ACCESS.
