Rabbit, Rabbit! Hare, Hare!

Please vote for the National Cherry Blossom Festival as your Favorite Springtime Activity!

rabbitsWe met some new friends at Thursday’s Volunteer Mixer and staffed some great Lead Volunteers!  Sign up now to work the Fireworks Festival with Diani Diaz in the Beer Garden, do some arts and crafts with planner Nicole Breslin-Romano or participate in the VIP viewing party with wedding planner Kim Newton!

hh12These bunnies are more than just cute…we need ’em!  Don’t forget to yell out “Rabbit, rabbit, hare, hare!” on the first day of March to ensure 31 days of good luck!  We are not superstitious but we also won’t turn down help during the first week of spring and our jam packed event schedule.  Its going to be AWESOME!

Almost Spring!

keep-calm-and-spring-is-almost-hereSpecial bulletin for blog readers only:

Volunteer Positions are ALMOST ready.  We are working away and hope to have them posted tomorrow!  In fact, if you check the site today, you may get a sneak peak while we are updating.  Do not be surprised if you see a shift and it disappears a moment later.  It will come back but it may be full so sign up when you see it!  Check back this weekend to see the rest of the shifts.

Impending weather won’t keep us from having a good time!
We will  post if anything changes but as of now, it looks like the snow wont start until later in the evening.  Besides, we want to enjoy time with all of you and try that tasty food before we get stuck at home for the day!

And just for fun, here are some more snowy pictures to make you smile.

Spring is Getting Closer!

SOME positions have been posted but don’t fret…more are coming soon!Parade Volunteers 2Parade Tweety

And on that note, let’s be honest.  Some positions are a little less glamorous than others and therefore a little harder to fill.  If you are able to volunteer for 5 weekday shifts, you may earn a position at one of our VIP events!  But act now because those slots will fill up quickly!  In order to secure your position, email volunteer@downtowndc.org with your interest and availability.  Elite position include: Pink Tie Party, Pink Carpet Reception, Grand Sake Tasting and working with our A-List celebrities at the Parade!  Click here for shifts.

FAMILY DAYS EMAIL: If you received an email stating you are confirmed for a 2014 Family Days Shift, go ahead and delete that email.  There was a glitch in our system (and by glitch, I mean me) and that email was a mistake.  Family Days has not yet but posted so you will still need to sign up for it when all shifts become available.  Sorry again for the confusion!

And don’t forget to RSVP for Next Week’s Mixer:
Lets  fight the winter blues together!  We love the Melrose Hotel for hookin’ up the 5-5-5 Specials for us!  That’s a reason to SMILE!

Wed, Feb. 12 – Melrose Hotel 5:30-8:30pm
